The Convention resumed ate sittings on Thursday, when the-following resolution was carried unanimously : — "That-the-no-license vote be made to extend to prohibit the sale of New Zealand wine, and to auctioneers selling liquor, and to chemists administering or selling except upon doctor's prescription." It was also decided that no-license leagues should be urged to establish social chibs for young men, with ;a. view, to counteracting the attractions • provided by the licensed houses. ' .*••.! Adams expressed the reigret of the Assembly, and moved that :the Rev^ F,. Vf. Isitt should be relieved •■ of the onerous duties of" the general secretariat, and appointed as ■ general organiser. This was seconded by .Mr. Baxter, and carried by a standing^yote. ? . The Rev. J. Dawson was unanimously chosen as general secretary of the Alliance. The Rev. A. Doull moved, and it was agreed to—"That the amended constitution and rules of the* New, Zealand Alliance, of which due notice has been given in terms of Clauses 12, 13 and 14 of the Alliance Constitution, 1898, be now adopted, and that, 1 upon tho Dominion Convention agreeing to the constitution, the New Zealand Alliance and the Dominion Con- [ veiition shall henceforth be one arid the same body, to be known as the New Zealand Alliance." This was eventually confirmed by the Convention, so that these two bodies are now one. Members of the executive were chosen as follow : Messrs A. R. Atkinson, A. J. Bennett, P.G. Denton, J. B. Finlay, J, W. Helyer, A. Hoby, B. Lowe, J. Nicol and E. W. PethJeriek, the Revs. A. Dewdney, J. J, North, W. J. Williams, W. J. Comrie, Fee and F. W. Isitt, with Messrs J. Leigh and J. Brown.
