FIMRFOM FANCIERS' SHOW.

Per Press Association

; DUNEDIN,: June 18. The Dunedin Fanciers' Show; is a great success. The North Island cenr tributes - largely •to the entry list, in which nearly everjr town of Canterbury and Otago is well represented. Poultry entries show a decline, clue to many breeders having gone out of the fancy line. In the game class, Mr Soloman, K.C., Dunedin, took first honours in the classes for the best black and red cock '; while in Orpingtons, a black hen shown by Mr; Henry Ive, was awarded premier position. Tho principal trophy, given by the South Island-Bull-dog Club, for the best bulldog exhibited, was won by Mr F. E. Watson's Greenstone. Mr Menzie's Glenledi Bargemistress was adjudged the best bull bitch, and secured, the silver cup presented by the Wellington Bulldog Club. Mr W. Crane, of Sydney, who judged'the dogs at the show, says the exhibition was a revelation to him, and one of the best he has ever seen. Spaniels are a wonderful class, and excel anything 1 he.has seen in New South Wales, if not Australia. In the class for fox terriers there are some splendidly made bitches, the winner being particularly choice. The winning bull dogs are magnificent types of tho national breed. Mr Crane contends that the dominion is particularly well suited for breeding St. Bernards.
