In the House of Commons, Mr John Redmond declared that the^ Budget was bad, unjust and oppressive. Old age pensions would certainly benefit Ireland to the extent of 2£ millions, but the money could have been spent to greater' benefit m Ireland by increasing transport and general development. He added that the Nationalists had decided to vote against the second reading.
