SALE OF PASTORAL LEASES.
CHRISTCHTJRCH, February 27. Tho pastoral leases offered by auction met with ii disappointing demand and tho sale was dull. Two- *of tho smaller rims found no bidders, and in no case was the upset price exceeded. The total area offered was 172,534 acres and in every ea.se the improvements were slight. The leases are for twenty years, possession to be given on March Ist, 1910. Sales were made as follows:—Rim 20, John E. Scott; run 180, Mrs Janet Murchison; Run 127 J. G. Scott and T. H. Scott, Runs 181 and 221, Blanche Murray-Aynsley, owns the adjoining freehold: Run 183* A. E. Birdling; Run 103, no bid; Run 203, Florence Maud Killian and A. R. Killian, who leases the surrounding runs.
