The chairman of the North Canterbury Hospital Board says there are from 200 to 300 consumptives in Canterbury, 'many of whom are anxiously awaiiuig admission in the sanatorium. Dr. Finch estimates the number at 250, aud tho annual increment of new caees at about 80. He recommends making provision for thirty cases in the meantime.
