There was a large entry of all lines at Messrs F. H. Choat and Co.'s weekly stock and produce sale, and good business was done at the following" prices: Poultry.—Hens. Is 3d, Is 6d, Is 9d, 2s, 2s 9d,.3s 6d to 3s 9d; roosters, Is 3d, Is 9d, 2s, 3s 6d to 4s per pair. A line of purebred black Minorcas changed hands privately at 10s, 10s 9d and 12s 6d per pair. Produce. — Wheat (seconds) 12s 6d, 13s 6d to 14s; oatsheaf chaff (old) 2s 9d to 3s, new, 2s 6d to 2s 9d per bag; in ton lots (old) 45s to 47s 6d. (new) 40s to 555; potatoes (new season) 6s 6d, 7s, 8s 6d, 9s to 10s per sack. Fruit. —Plums, lid to 3d, jam sorts Id to 1J; pears, lsd to 2'd; apples cooking. Id- to IJkl, prime desserts. 2c' to 2|d. A prime line sold at 2d to 3d : tomatoes (dessert) 4d to 4^d, second grade 3|d to ;Jd, sauce tomatoes 3d to 3id. Meat: Mutton (wether) 3d (owe) 2|d per lb.
