THE NEW ZEALAND MARATHON RACE. Per Press AssociatlSh. AUCKLAND,. February 25. The Auckland Amateur Athletic and Cycling Club has received good entries for the New Zealand Marathon Race and other athletic events to bo held on March 6. Up to Saturday evening last the total number of entries that had boon received was 178, of which 36 were for the Marathon Race. Given fine weather the meeting promises to be very successful. Entries for the Marathon Race are as follow: C. Opie, E. W. Shanahan, Dr Guy Ha.skins (Christchurch), S. W. Moore (Ashburton), W. H. Copeland (Highgate Harriers, England), W. J. Willot (Paeroa), J. H. Taylor, F. W. Taylor (Hamilton), R. E. Darney (Helensville), J. A. Pegler (Raglan), W. Trimble, M. T. Vibert, T. F. Johnston, J. Ross, W. Kcay, S. A. Shaw, N. A. Duthie, A. Twyneham, G. F. Underwood, C. F. G. Ormstein, L. J. E. Ormstein, W. A. Wilshaw, F. Tavlor, G. H. Hill, W. Wilson, R, j. Fenton, H. D. Crawford. T. Campbell, G. Seager, C. Stewart, C. G. Cake, F. Herring, P. W. Roope, F. Belneavis and A. Rogers (Auckland. There will probably be more entries, m view of the fact that some of the South Island competitors did not post their entries till Saturday night.
