WELLINGTON, February 22. The Department of Industries and Commerce has received" the following cable message from tuo High Commissioner, dated London, February 20 : Frozen Meat.—Mutton —The market is very dull. Trade for all classes of mutton lias been very slow, and prices are barely maintained. The tendency of the market seems to be to decline. Current quotations are : Canterbury, ;«d; North Island, 3|d; River Plate, 23d; Australian, 2|d. Lamb.—The i market is very weak; there- is a dull sale for all brands, and the competition nmongst holders of lamb to clear their stock has lowered values. Cantorbury lamb is quoted at sgd, other than Canterbury 5Jd. Beef.—The market is ■steady, and there is a better demand. Hindquarters are qiioted at 3|d, forequarters 2jjd. Butter.—The market is slightly weaker, with less demand. Current quotations are: Choicest New Zealajid, 107s; Danish, 116s; Australian, 104s; Argentine, 106s; Siberian, 102s. Wool.—The market is stronger, especially for coarse crossbreds of all grades. Bradford tops are quoted as follows: Thirty-six's low crossbreds, 11 Ul; forty's low crossbreds, Is QJd; forty-four's medium, Is ljd; fifty's halfbreds, Is 4-Jcl; fifty-six's quartcrbreds, Is 7d; sixty's merinos, 16 ll^d.
