NAVAL EXPENDITURE.
Received February 19, 10.20 p.m. LONDON, February 19. Mr Asquith, replying to Mr "W. P. Byles, said that no arrangement had been made during the Berlin, visit affecting the respective' navies. Germany adheres to her views, but the King's visit made it clear that our naval expenditure was not regarded as a cause for friction.
