The Franco-Russian Alliance.
Paris, Feb. 2 At a meeting of fifteen hundred people m Paris, M. Anatole France, a member of the French Academy, strongly criticised the Franco-Russian alliance, and declared he did not believe m the existence of a positive treaty.
A Strange Accident.
Flint, a jockey, while riding m a race at Cannes, turned his head towards where hi 3 wife and child were standing, and struck the winning post, being killed instantaneously.
Another Mining Strike.
A great strike has begun m Silesia. The hour* of the miners exceed those of the Westphalian miners, and the wages are less.
American Wife Poisoner.
New York, Feb. 2 Hock, the wife poisoner, had twenty-six wives. Several women declare he married them and absconded with their money.
A Train Collision.
A Pittsburg train collided with a sleigh at Hornellsville, killing seven women, and further injuring four other?.
