Asliburton Mounted Rifles

ANNUAL MEETING.

The annual meeting of the Ashburton Mounted Rifles took place last evening in the A. and P. Association's rooms, when twenty-three members wero present. Captain Studholme took the chair, and after the minutes had been read and confirmed, explained the financial position of the corps, congratulating members on the substantial credit balanco shown.

The rules of the corps were then discussed and confirmed, several additions being made. A hearty vote of thanks was passed to Captain A. A. Fooks for his services to the corps and also for his donation to the shooting and sport funds. He was also unanimously elected a lite member of the corps. A vote of thanks was also passed to Mr H. Ford for his hospitality and kindness to members at the late camp and on all oc* casions at the rifle range. It was decided that new uniforms should be proonred during the current year. A Finance Committee was appointed, comprising the officers and Sergeant-Major Gibson, Quartermaster-Sergeant Rickman, and Sergeant Christian j Snooting Committee — The officers and Sergeant-Major Gibson, Sergeants Stuart, Christian, T. M. Gordon, and Corporal Jeff. The Commanding Officer reported that several new members had joined for the coming year, and he hoped soon to have the roll at its maximum number.

The proceedings terminated with cheers for the officers.
