Richard Taylor, and others, who witnessed the payment. In my official report on the settlement of the Wanganui question, which was published in the Government Gazette of the Southern Province on the 6th. Nov. 1848, there is a list showing the proportions and order in which the compensation money was handed to the claimants, in which the names of the natives receiving the money, is inserted. Besides the documents above alluded to, I furnished, when last at Wellington, an account current for the receipt and expenditure of the aforesaid advance.
