These lands of mine are very close to Mangoraka. There is another part of this land which heads to the coast, to Tarapura, Tipiupiu, Te Waitahuparai, and Te Mama. These are the lands of the tribal group of Ngati Tamari at[?] Kohe, as you[?] know. McLean, on my taking the cows of Mangati ... [meaning unclear] to the tribes. The tribes were in error about the payment for Mangati; ... [meaning unclear]. You are able to get a woman the payment, and so I thought that there are perhaps a few other pennies in the payment for Mangoraka. ... [meaning unclear] Puketapu, a two-faced tribe. Sirs, think of the orphaned, that is why I say to you two, hold back something for me; you can find[?] and give me three bags. Have pity on me, on a woman and an orphan, because my parents and brothers have died, who would take in the names of my land. This is all of the many lands which are close Mangoraka.
