April 4th 1848 Friend McLean greeting you, this is a letter claiming payment for land - the boundary is main [?] tending towards Taranaki including the following places, Oparinga, Te Koru, Mokoni, Motukari, Te Hawera, Pukehou, Te Tapuke, Te Akatea, Tutemanu, Wakarepa, Te Roto, Tirohanga, Te Putahi, Pahou, Te Waipuna, Taotaora, Pukemapou, Te Uhipipi, Pakaka, Uremutu is the boundary extending inland to Kaipikari, and Matai raetu [?], going below (northwards) to Mangaatoa, Maramararo, Te Tihiroa, Tapapanui, Mangohito, and inland to Te Mapou, that is the boundary inland from hence to Te Ahungakura, Koputawaki, Papangana, Mangahau, Te Wera, Te Waihihi, Te Tuaahu, Te Tahua, Onaha, Tetehe, Oteaitu, Kohangatata, Otupara, Oteaitu, Te Kere, Tutanganui, Te Parekura, Popokere, Maraeku, Paparata, Te Wapake, Tikorangi, Wairi Pounamu, Taporapora, Te Piripiri Te Mouku, Pakaraka, Te Karetu, Orongorou, Kaitawanui, Patoitoi Te Waitapu, and Waitoetoe these are all.
