[Note at top] 'Copy' Putikiwharanui 6 June 1845 Friends, Greetings. I have heard that you are still speaking badly of the Waikato chiefs, that is, to Taonui and Te Heuheu. Young men, give this up. Which way are you seeking? These methods are not right according to the faith. Waikato and Taupo are important tribes, and noble tribes. It is not right that you curse[?] them; as they are living in peace, so leave them alone. In my view such words are not from the distinguished, but from the lowly. So, give this up.
