However, it is for all the people to divide it for Te Pakaru, Ngatapa, Taonui, Poutoma, Te Waru, Hikuroa, Te Watarauihi and Te Waitere . . . [illegible]. Indeed, for all Ngati Maniapoto out to Kawhia, and inland, they will decide for us and they will speak to us; they must reply and write us a letter so we know of their decision. All the same, we say that the people named in this letter have the say. If they agree for it to be paid for, that is all right. Matana Ruta had stated at Hakari that the boundary be declared by Ihaka Te Ururau[?], but all opposed him. Friend, we, Ngati Turangapeke, are a numerous tribe and there will be a majority of us participating in our discussion, and according to procedure, if you come here. That's all. From Te Tana and the people of Ngati Rama i Mohuka[?]
