Thames 13th July 1872 My dear Sir I am afraid I did Mr Mackay an injustice in one of my private notes to you yesterday - I have learned this morning with reference to complaint by Rapana hia that the purchase of his land paid for in grog and clothes was not made by Mackay - the complaint was in reference to a purchaseby a person named Jeffcott living at Cabboys bay.
