Wellington July 31 1864 My dear McLean The Manawatu Deed of Purchase has been returned to me duly executed by some 140 or 160 Men Women and Children - and the Claims of the Absentees appear to be duly admitted and guarded. I am pledged to pay the purchase money at akawa on the 18th of August, and in the Deed the parties appointed to receive and apportion the £12000 are Heriwanul, Hoani Te Muhana and Te Kaneke. I enclose letters to the Claimants you mention wig wig them, if they have Claims to be present at Rawkawa
