I gave you the key of the Kauri box a week before you left and I understood you to say that you would lock it up I shall ask Connor to look with me in your room in case it may have been left on the table or drawers. St. George has not returned and I cannot hear anything to report relative to Natives - Locke who is going to Wellington by this Steamer said he would let you know all about the Native letters I mentioned in my last I enclose a letter received from the Colonial Secretarys Office calling for tenders for printing I wrote to the Herald and Times and directed them to send the Tenders in yesterday morning but they have not done so, nor can I get them up to the present moment. Your brother is much better Dr. Russell says he was not nearly so bad as he expected to find him. I remain Yours faithfully Edward L. Green
