Sep. 30 1872. Dear Mr. Hill, Will you kindly send on the letter addressed to Manuwhiri. It contains a note from Wi Parata M.G.A. which to I am very anxious Manuwhiri should get reply to and to which the King party have been requested to reply. I am very sorry to hear of the death of poor Leon Hetit. It is on account of his demise that I have taken the liberty to ask a favour of you. I am hoping that something will be done at last to establish lasting peace, and I am very very sorry that kind-hearted Hetit has not lived to see it. With assurances of respect, I am Yours sincerely, C. O. Davis. Mr. Hill Alexandra.
