Napier 5 March 1860 My dear McLean, I enclose you a tracing received from Mr. Lock of the Rongoatawhai Block I send it in this private way because Cooper is not here, and he will send you another in due form -- you might wish to have the information and so I send the paper. Cooper could have sent Lock by this ''White Swan'' as I requested him to do but instead of that, and after agreeing with me about the Surveys in detail he went an hour afterwards and directed Lock to survey , most important no doubt after all the cry about the Surveys.
