Raglan April 28 1860 Dear Sir, I have received you favor of yesterday. In reply to the first part of your communication I find that it is impossible to make any arrangements for the security and defence of the European inhabitants of Kawhia consequently I have requested Mr. Brewer the Sub Collector of Customs to charter the two vessels now in that harbour to convey all the Europeans to Manukau. With reference to the arms taken by the Natives I shall take the first opportunity of communicating the circumstance to His Excellency the Govr.
