Dear Sir, I was very much annoyed this morning at hearing from the Colonial Office that the Bonus advertisement you telegraphed about is only to be inserted once a month and not as I supposed as a standing advertisement - will you do me the favor to call upon him. Thank you very much for the prompt manner in which you answered my telegrams re "Native Matters". You will perceive by late papers the course we have adopted about Waikato matters and I can assure you that the settlers here have every confidence in yourself. Yours truly H.W. Penny. Pardon me again troubling you about my affairs but it is absolutely necessary for the well being of the paper that I should receive more support at the hands of the Government. Hitherto and at the present time my claim is ridiculously trifling, while I see other Government papers are actually revelling in advertisements.
