I am surprised that you have received no letters from me either at Callao or San Francisco as I wrote several times at each of these ports. I received your remittance from San Francisco in Sept last and sent your receipt for £500 to Callao. I will send you a duplicate of it in a day or two. Would do so now but I don't remember the date and my books are at my house up town. Your money I have placed where you will receive 8% (eight percent) for the use of it but must give 30 days notice before drawing it.
