Post Office arrangements as to the conveyance of the Mail had prevented the Native coming up again --- Stockman shewed me a letter from Ihaia to him in which he complains of the letters brought by post to him having had their seals broken. I hope next week to be able to report on the truthfulness or otherwise of this rumour --- One of Peacock's vessels the "Mary Clark" I believe is on shore at the Waitara --- How she got there with a S. E. wind is a puzzle. There are all sorts of rumours afloat about it, many of them not much to the credit of the owner.
