I had from the time of Katatori's death suspected that his pretended friend was the instigator of his death --- It appears that when Ihaia and Nikorima left their pas at the Waitara two men were left behind, who falling into their enemies hands a committee of the people was held when W. Kingi declared they should be killed --- Aperona his principal fighting chief said, "No", high words
