Private Tauranga 3rd Aug/70 My dear Mr. McLean, I arrived here this morning to see Colonel Moule about Pack horse pay, but he tells me that he has not received any for that purpose yet. No news of Te Kooti A cutter arrived at Maketu last Sunday with 100 more Telegraph Poles. I hear that the Tauranga steamer has gone down with all hands. Capt. G. Mair's force is here getting paid. Col. Moule leaves for the coast during the week to pay A. C.'s at Whakatane and Opotiki. I am going back to Maketu this afternoon. I enclosed my diary up to the end of July. remaining Yours ever sincerely, Herbert F. Way.
