Ko Makarini te Amahau Rehia, wife of James Tylee, Tawera, states that she is a grand-daughter of Rangi Kohi, a Chief of Ngamotu; and that she claims land North of the Waiwakaio river; for which, when sold to the Government, she expects to get a share of the purchase money. She further states that her claim is very extensive towards the Mangore district. (Signed) Donald McLean Land Commissioner. Hutt. Wellington. 30th. Aug. 1851. Rangikohi is the name of her Hapu. She is related to Hakopa, who wishes to sell the above land. This woman is also of the Ngatitania tribe. She did not get any payment for her other lands at Ngamotu. (Signed) Donald McLean.
