Wellington Nov. 27th. 1871. Dear Mr. McLean, I found on my return to the office this morning that the affidavit of Mr. Bothomley re Hapuku had not been returned to us. I suppose it has slipped your memory and as this day is the last on which affidavits can be filed in support of our case perhaps you will give the necessary instructions to get Mr. Bothamley to make oath to what he can honestly swear to. Have you yet got the particulars of the conveyance from MCDonald and the Natives about which you spoke to me a few days ago.
