here last night. There are some prisoners at the "Mawhai" and I have written to Henare Potae to send on to you to know what you wish done with them. I wish Wilson and his men were here they would be a great help to me. I shall try to keep up the good feeling with the natives by every means in my power. I would like to mention to you that Wm. Brown during his stay here showed every attention to his duty and displayed a good deal of skill according to W. Vermonds opinion. I trust you will hear of some more victories by next steamer. The weather has been so bad I have not been able to do as much as I could wish since the St. Kilda left. I write this in haste as I am anxious to send Deare off. So believe me with the desire of all to be kindly remembered to you Yours very respectfully, James Fraser
