[Extract of letter to] McLean from A. Domett. Wellington Jan 9 / 66 Chapman (the Judge) is very anxious to have a complete copy of your H.B. Prov. Council proceedings etc. I know Chapman is a great collector of these things and he had every paper ever published concerning New Zealand. Such collectors should be encouraged, as they may have their use - and few people would undertake to store such rubbish - unprofitable to either gods or men, as I suppose Carlyle would say. Do therefore cause these papers with all your Gazettes Acts etc. if you have a spare copy to send him, or me for him.
