Clive Grange 26th Oct. 67 My dear McLean, I have just got your note and have affixed my mem. to the Engineer's letter intending the Bearer to take it back over the river - What horrid blowing weather we are getting just now and insufferably hot 75 last night in the shade - We feel the winds so much now since the river washed away the trees in front - The crops are drying up in some places very fast and grass will suffer if this high wind keeps up longer. A man was here yesterday complaining that Mr. I. Curling R.M. had fined him £3.6.0 for furious riding in Town. There is something wrong here - Curling had D.T's very bad last week and may still be suffering. Yours very truly Joseph Rhodes.
