got to Kai Iwi, and pitched our tent, sung a hymn, and prayed together in the dark wilderness, - when behold, about 6 in the morning, William made his appearance! One of my boys, Pirika, met him about half a mile from the tent. We all welcomed him, and whilst cooking our breakfast, gave a detail of his wonderful preservation by climbing up a steep and rocky cliff, on the top of which he slept all night. Got to Dr. Wilson's about 12 o'clock after a good blowing on the road from the sand blowing in our faces. Received a kind and welcome reception. Dined there and had a great treat, having drunk of some of the finest wine
