to the South of the block alluded to in No. 1. is offering a large tract of land, North of the Waitara, towards Mokau, to the Government. is a Schedule of the claim of land offered by the Ngatitama and Ngatimutanga tribes. Owing to the migratice habits of the Ngatiawa natives within their respective limits as a tribe, a great difficulty arises in ascertaining the sub-division and position of the various lands referred to in their communications; so much so, that a minute enquiring into their individual rights, can only be instituted with success, on the spot where such claims exist.
