Private Maketu 26th Sept/70 My dear Mr. McLean, I enclosed you my small diary for Aug: and I have the Sept. one ready to send to you at the end of the month. The Telegraph Party are at work again, they are working down from Oraki Korako, no news of importance. Except I heard yesterday by way of Opotiki, that Major Mair R. M. is up the Whatakane Valley for the purpose of meeting some Uriweras that are coming in. I am glad to say, that fine weather is setting in again. Mr. Clarke C. C. is still at Tauranga I saw a Telegram pass through here today from Taupo, it was for Mr. Clarke. Everything else seems very quiet. Will you please accept the enclosed Photo, it is not a good one, as it was taken down here. Remaining yours ever sincerely, Herbert Way P. S. I am off inland again tomorrow H.W.
