Mr. M. Hamlin has gone to Te Aute to meet Mr. Wigan - The education rate meeting at Waipaua was to come off on Monday last but postponed until last night - 1/3 will pay without a grumble - 1/3 object for want of fund and 1/3 object because they have to pay £2 or £3 each having so many rabbit houses - Mr. Carlyon was to preside at meeting and intended to try and make a little political capital out of it - most likely assisted by Mr. Russell - I wrote to Mr. Tiffen asking him what time the arhitrators would meet in Mr. Kochs question - this is his reply - I have no idea when, I believe not until Weber returns from the Country, probably in a week's time. Hy. Tiffen Mr. Sealy informs me that he understood from Mr. Ferard - he would not act on political grounds -
