July 12th 1866 My dear McLean Herewith is a letter from Mr. Biggs and a number of Maori letters from Turanga - It would appear some mischief still lurks in that quarter. There is enclosed also some letters from Paora Teapatu Wairoa about his land - I have procured a better photograph of Te Waru than the one I sent the other day and enclose it here - Renata Pukutu of Pahtangata has written about - the Rangihiro a business as you will see by enclosed translation, or rather the original which I have just found. Everything is quiet here and we had a glorioux day's rain yesterday; the streets are quite - something new. I will send the kerosine from Poverty by Lord Ashley - Mr. Byers starts for Mohaka to look after some there on Saturday. Yours truly Joseph Rhodes
