Mokau May [1849] Sir, The enclosed letter came into my possession which I take the opportunity of sending to you. I [am] happy to tell you that my son who you so kindly acted as Godfather for is now grown a fine boy, when yourself and Mr Taylor paid us a visit at the paripari and I hope I may be able by some means to send him to be educated very soon. Old Taonui desired to be remembered to you. We are all well thank God. I remain Yours Truly Lewis Hetet To D McClean Esq. [Addressed to D. McClean Esqr, New Plymouth. Readdressed in another hand to Wanganui.]
