Wellington Sunday 25th. March 1865. Dear Maclean, I was about to run up to see you and Smith but the English Mail not having arrived I cannot well do so. We are in despair at the number of Natives being fed on the East Coast by Haultains account. I hope Smith has got through all his work and can come down without much inconvenience. I hope and conclude you and Ormond are returned by this. Yours in great haste, A. H. Russell.
