I have a great wish to see the Ahuriri country; and become a stock owner there, eventually; if I could obtain employment for a time; which, with the proceeds of the farm, I might be able to accomplish. There appears no prospect of work at Mokau; as Mr. Cooper tells me that the present offer of land there will not be accepted; and the natives are not likely, I should think, to part with land on both sides of the river,- at least for some considerable time. I had an idea of going to the diggings; but shall wait here till I hear from you; if you will be so good as to favor me with a line, at your convenience I remain, my dear Sir, Yours faithfully, (Signed) John Rogan. To:- Donald McLean Esq.
