. Taranaki 16th. March 1850. I have examined the plan or map attached to the accompanying Crown Grant of Lands purchased from the Natives by the Local Government, for the New Zealand Company at Taranaki; and find that the several Native Reserves exhibited therein, including Barrett's and the Wesleyan Mission Station are laid down in accordance with the Official Plans at this settlement, and are perfectly correct. In re-copying the Deed, the alteration suggested in the Memorandum hereunto attached, should be noticed. The plan for the Hua Block, or Mr. Cooke's sections, will be prepared and forwarded by the next mail to Auckland, as it is of considerable importance that the Grants, when completed, should be returned with as little delay as possible. (Signed) Donald McLean Inspector of Police.
