Spinsters’ Club’s Enjoyable Programme
The large crowd at the Spinsters’ Club on Sunday were well entertained with table tennis, music, a ventrilociuistic item by Mr. C. H. Burridge, and by three aircraftmen, Messrs. J. Mowatt, D. G. McKillop, and R. G. Hall, whose musical numbers were enthusiastically encored. Girl members spent a. busy, day looking after their guests and in serving the usual delicious home-made tea. Lovely flowers were profusely arranged about the main room and foyer, providing a home-like atmosphere together with the brightly-painted wicker chairs, gay cushions and deep armchairs of the furnishings. As usual, baskets of apples were distributed, among the men as they left at the end of the evening. Friday night’s dance was again popular with many men of the Forces.
