OVERSEAS TROOPS
All To Be Trained At Trentham
OTHER CAMPS FOR USE BY TERRITORIALS All reinforcements, from both islands, for the Second New Zealand Expeditionary Force will in future be trained at Trentham Military Camp. In making this announcement on Saturday the Minister of Defence, Mr. Jones, said that the other two mobilization camps, Papakura and Burnham, and the Waiouru Military Camp, would be used to accommodate personnel of the Territorial Force. “This rearrangement,” he added, “will give the Territorial Force more comfortable conditions and better training facilities, besides enabling the Army authorities to discontinue the use of some of the temporary camps now in use.” This change-over fits in with the proposals made by General Sir Guy Williams, K.C.8., C.M.G., D. 5.0., in connexion with the reorganization of the land forces.
