CRADLE ROLL PARTY.
\Vaimate Little White Ribbcners have their innings, and what a happy time it was for all concerned. They came from fat and near, babies in go-carts and toddlers, and older brothers and sisters, with their mothers, all hasteninp to Knox Hall, at the invitation of the W.C.T.U., for it was the clay of days for the children, over a hundred happylittle people.
After the opening service, Mis Norrie, of Timaru, out of her years of ripe experience and great mother's heart, spoke words of loving advice and encouragement to the mothers.
Then came the programme by the children, songs and recitations, all so splendidly rendered, that ora* could not help thinking what a storehouse of talent to tie developed in the coming years for the work for God and home and humanity. Afternoon tea for the crown-ups was the next item, and then the crowning event, as far as the children were concerned, was the distribution to every child on the roll of a surprise packet containing an apple, some nuts, and a small toy. The meeting closed with the singing of the Temperance Doxology to the accompaniment of various musical instruments played by the tiny tots, one and all pronouncing it the best yet, and feeling that they h id had a foretaste of Uhrlstmas and Santa Claus.
