ORMONDVILLE.

The annual meeting was held on May 9, presided jpver by Mr. T. Fothergill m the absence of the Vicar. A letter from Mr. Whibley was read thanking parishioners for their very generous help, during his incumbency, especially mentioning Miss A. Webb, Superintendent of the Sunday School, the staff of teachers, and organists m the various churches. ■ .. . The Balance Sheet showed a deficit of £41 , of which £17 had been carried over from the year before. The new Vestry- are Mesdames Kent andMulholland, Messrs. Palmer (People's Warden), Dampney, Edgely, Fothergill, Williams, Scharre, with power to add representatives from the new por" tion of the parish, Matamau. Mr. Pease was re-elected auditor. Mr. Edgely on" behalf of the 'parish thanked Mr. R. J. Whibley, retiring People's Warden, for his many services to the Church during his residence m Ormondville, and expressed the, universal regret at his impending departure. The following letter was sent to

the R©v. F. WV Whibley expressing the sorrow of the parishioners at his departure, and asking him to accept a cheque enclosed as a slight expression of the esteem m which he was held. To Our Beloved Vicar, On his retirement after 14 years' service m the parish of Ormondville at the great age of 80. When we think of the activity you have displayed at your great age we can only think of your great courage, and big heart. Your heart and soul were wrapped up m the work of Our Lord Jesus Christ. You were sustained by constant prayer and a firm belief m your Heavenly Father. Your age and experience added power and reverence to your advice, and helped to soothe and fortify the troubled m heart as only Hie can who is endowed with that saintly spirit always so prominent m a true Christian. Your parishi oners wish you a speedy return to healtk and strength, and the prayers of your people will follow you into your retirement that you may enjoy your well earned rest, and continue to do God's work m the world by (precept and example, by prayer, and by advice to your fellowmen. You arc leaving us as Vicar, but m your heart you will always be Vicar to us, and we. shall have the same feeling towards you, and often be reminded of you by some kindly word or action. You carry from this parish our best wishes that you will be long spared to enjoy the evening of your life after the burden and heat of the day. May Gfod bless you m your future life as He has blessed your past labours m this parish, and may your days be Peace, Love and Happiness. We beg you to accept the enclosed cheque as some small token of the esteem and appreciation m which you are held by your parishioners and wellwishers m the Ormondville Parochial District.
