The vicar m a short speech said, that their
keylioto' -must bo one of gratitude to God for 'the financial condition of the Parish and of encouragement for the future. Over £220 had ben raised during the past year for the Makarake Church and a debt of only £420 required to be raised when the Church would be consecrated. The general fund of the parish showed a good year despite the fact that nearly £150 had been sent out of the Parish for social and Missionary workj this was most gratifying. The year ended with a credit balance of £80. ' The vicar and other church -officers voiced their gratitude to the ' members of the Ladies' Guilds, organists; Sunday School teachers, church cleaners, Layreaders, decorators, an<j all the zealous workers at the Fetes and Winter Show and commented on the family spirit which existed throughout the Parish. Mr D. P. Cameron m a happy speech voiced the feelings of the meeting m congratulating the office-bearers on presenting such a healthy and encouraging balance sheer. The Vicar m his letter to the Parishioners said that he yearned for two improvements m the present year — better attendance at the Holy Communion services because that is the index of our spiritual growth and better attendance at the special, services m Lent. Altogether it was a very happy meeting, and perhaps the best annual meeting we have held for some years. The following church officers werje elected amidst applause: Mr E. B. M. Laseron as Vicar's Warden, Mr H. J' JUougher as Peoples' Warden, and Messrs Watson, Eade, Barrow, R. McCuHough, Paulson, J, Middleman, S. Davies, W. Middlemin and J. T. Herbert. A hearty vote of thanks was conveyed to the headmaster, staff and boys of the college for the use of the college and for much other helpi A social hour was then spent and supper served and the meeting and very enjoyable evening ended with the singing of the National Anthem.
