St. Matthew's, Hastings.

Vicar: Rev. R. T. Hall. Assistant Curate: Rev. 0. Gibson. The Three Hours' Service on Good Friday was taken by the Ven. Archdeacon Simkin, who gave most ' thoughtful and helpful addresses. In the evening the. choir rendered the cantata. "Olivet to Calvary." The Mothers' Union met on April sth and made arrangements for helping the Church Furnishing Fund. It has been. decided that the G.F.S. shall - meet on Thursdays as last year. A number of" new candidates have al-: ready come forward, but so far.no one' has,, accepted the vacant secretaryship. The annual meeting of the C.E.M.S. was held on April 13th. A new committee was appointed, and the prospects and difficulties of the ' ensuing year were discussed. All are keen and , we hope for much progress. Mr R. S. IJrittain has been elected secretary in succession to Mr F. L.> Tucker, and a vote of thanks was passeed to 'the latter for his long term of service. The .Sunday School teachers are meeting as usual- every Tuesday. The Mission Box collection' for the last six months amounts to approximately £80, which is an increase on any previous collection.
