(From our own correspondent.) February 16. Great preparations are being made for the Napier Carnival, which is to be held next month. A meeting of the congregation is called for this evening to make preliminary arrangemeats for St". Patrick's Day social. The Catholics of Hastings have the Princess Theatre booked for March 17 for a national conoert, and 'judging by the enthusiasm shown it will be a great success. A meeting of the parishioners was held last Thursday for the purpose of making, arrangements for giving a send-off to the Rev. Father Goggan, who has been in charge of this parish for the last six- =years, and is now going to take the position of Vice-Rector of St. Patrick's College. Mr. W. J. MeG-rath was entrusted with the duties of secretary, and Mr. St. Lawrence Toner was deputed to arrange a conoert at which the presentation is to be made.
