DECEMBER, 1907. The following were the papers set for candidates for the above examination :— ENGLISH, ENGLISH ESSAY AND CATECHISM. (N.B. The marks allotted to handwriting and spelling will .be awarded on the work of this paper.) (1) Write a short but complete essay (about two pages) on one of the following subjects :—: — (a) The merits and demerits of a dry and wet summer. (b) ' The wicked flee when no man pursueth.' (c) In a letter to a friend describe some recent event of interest.
