FEATHERSTON

A very successful concert was held in Ihe Town Hall, Fcatherston, on November H;, m aid of the funds of the local Catholic church The attendance was very large, and the concert on the whole was one of the best given in the town. The promoters were fortunate in securing the sei vices of two Wellington vocalists of exceptional talent—Miss Segnef and Miss L. Irvine (late of Melbourne). Miss M Butler, of Wellington, also assisted by giving several excellent recitations. The following contributed to the programme " Pianoforte overture, Miss Dupre ; vocal quartette, Mesdames J. W. Card and Palmer, Dr Palmer, and Mi Fenwick ; songs, Miss Segrief ; songs, Mr. Hoinsby , song, Mr. Fenwick ; songs, Miss Eva ('aid , songs, Miss Irvine , skirt dance, Miss Toogood , character sketches, Mr. 11. Hall , pianoforte solo, Mis J W Caul ; recitations, Miss Butler, song, Mr A I) Spring, Tush jig, Misses Dalrymplc (2), Bcnton, and Crawford The accompaniments during the evening were played b\ Mesdames Card and Wickcns, and Misses Dupre and Segrief. At an interval the Rev. Father Dufly thanked the performers for their services, and the audience for attending the concert The promoters of the concert are to be congratulated on the success of the function, and special thanks are due to Mrs J. W. Card and Miss Card, together with the secretary, Mr J W Card, who worked with energy to ensure the result obtained.
